Muscle and fitness magazines will often suggest a ridiculous amount of protein is needed but its unproven and goes against traditional philosophy. Moderate estimates suggest a gram of protein for every lb of bodyweight; however, for people getting heavy exercise, more is suggested. Between 1.5-2.0 g of protein per lb of bodyweight should be sufficient for your daily protein intake.
