Posted at December 31, 1969, 6:00 pm: 8-12 coats seems excessive...I found having a base tanned helped me a lot. I tanned 2 times a week starting 18 weeks out, bumped it up to 3 weekly sessions 8 weeks out. I had a great base tan and was super dark with only 4 coats of Pro Tan. I hated getting applied with the stuff, so I couldn't imagine any more than that!!
