Posted at December 31, 1969, 6:00 pm: Hey John! I can't speak for anyone else but here is what I do. As a make up artist I know that the most important thing to a good result is good prep. Do your hair removal at least two days before you tan (or it will sting like a mother) I personally wax off everything I don't want to deal with for 2-3 weeks and no stubble. (if your not as hairy as the 40 year old virgin I would give waxing a try otherwise use a dipilatory rather than shave) Get a really good body scrub like a sugar scrub (its better for your skin) from Bath and Body Works and the day after you do your hair removal scrub everything and especially your knees and elbows. And most importantly gobber yourself up with a thin but good moisturizer all over your body. A good one to use would be the Wal-Mart generic of Oil of Olay (the standard flavor nothing special) in the big bottle. While in the beauty section of Wal-Mart go into cosmetics and look for round red applicator sponges. Ask someone if you don't find then because they are there they all carry them I have gotten them all over the US. The next morning take a spritz in the shower and towel off then air dry for a bit, pour your ProTan into a glass bowl and using the applicator they set with it start at your ankles and paint up all the way around your calf. Then take a red applicator sponge and "buff" the ProTan in big circles until it sets. **Buff down from your ankles and over your feet and toes first then the PT won't be as dark and unatural on your feets add a little spray straight from the bottle if need be. You will do the same on your hands and your neck going into your hairline. Take it section by section on your body and do the same thing over and over. You will want to take some naked time to dry but after about 30 minutes the PT won't rub off on anything so you can get dressed and go. Be ready for some strange looks *lol* I apply a liberal coat of Oil of Olay once I am dry so that my skin stays moist and supple looking. That evening you are going to do the same thing all over again in the same progression. Just remember to buff buff buff and you will have no lines, streaks or dark spots. Again dry for 30 minutes and get dressed or go to bed. Repeat this process till you think you are dark enough as a base. Then the morning of your comp use something like DreamTan or JanTana Competition dark as well as Muscle Juice or Posing gel and you should be good to go. But please more than anything remember to moisturize between applications because PT is an alcohol based product and it will dry out your skin horribly and then the next coat you put on will get what I call "grab spots" and be darker because the skin is so dry. You are going to be dark from this stuff for a number of days to a week or more after your comp so at least you will good afterward with a good application technique. Hope this helps!! ~Tyra Original of the message was taken from http://forum.bodybuilding.com/ Previous Post: I don't know about that *lol* my husband and I had a lot of fun gettin... |
