Posted at December 31, 1969, 6:00 pm: Take it from someone who jumped into the pro-hormone scene before they were ready. Man it was some scary stuff. Hairloss, low sex drive, testicular atrophy, you name it. Sure it packed on 10 lbs of muscle but through hard training and diet you can do that and more. When I did my first and only cycle I bulked up to 195; since I've stopped taking pro-hormones I've dedicated myself to eating right and working out smart and now I'm 210 lbs and I'm doing it the natural route. I'm only 5' 8" so that was 15lbs of muscle I put on the right way and it was sure a hell of a lot easier than taking steriods (mentally and physically). Bodybuilding and working out is about being healthy. It's not about who's top dog for the night, but who's been in the game the longest. It's about longevity. Maybe I needed that scare and perhaps you will need it to, but don't say I never told you so. ps. Before I get ragged on I'm not anti-steroids. It's not the epidemic the media makes it sound and I believe there is a smart way to taking them and a very stupid way. All I'm saying is that I did it the stupid way which kicked my ass into gear to make the decision to do it the right way from now on. It's sad to see guys who look like their in the top physical condition of their lives, only to hear they ended up in the hospital for taking some juice too long or blew out a shoulder because they were pushing to fast. Like I said, it's all about longevity. Doing it the right way saves you from being blown out like a candle. Remember, the weakest guy in the gym will lift more than your ass that's lieing in a hospital.
