Posted at December 31, 1969, 6:00 pm: Yeah i think it's easy to be skinny compared to gaining muscle mass. I was once 170 lbs and fairly chunky. Then i lost weight down to 144 lbs over a summer. I cut out most bad foods and did cardio four or five times a week. It's not that hard at all What's so much harder is force feeding yourself every 3 hours or so with protein/carb and protein/fat meals in an attempt to grow larger without getting too much fat on you in the process. It's a pain in the ass lugging large quantities of food wherever i go I mean really... all a normal person has to do is stop eating most junk food, stop drinking sugary drinks (i switched to mostly water when i was aiming to lose fat) , don't drink so much alcohol and do cardio a few days of the week. Do you know how many calories a person can cut out just by not drinking soda or koolaid anymore?! Cardio isn't even hard. Everyone seems to think of cardio as going off and running hard for miles and miles but a brisk walk is enough if that's all you want to do. It's slower but it works. All it takes is getting off your butt and stop saying 'poor me' and do it. No i'm not talking about people trying to bulk and cut and all that. But if all you're doing is losing fat it's easy and it's such a simple formula. I manage to do BOTH lifting and cardio in a week and you have people complaining they're fat when if they'd just do cardio 2-3 days a week the weight would come off. Maybe not as fast as they want and how fast tv infomercials tell them it will come off, but it will come off. Argh it just drives me nuts how difficult people make things seem to be Eat right. Exercise. How hard is it?!?! Don't starve yourself! Don't run yourself into the ground! Do both things in moderation and you'll be not fat I really don't think i'm some special incredible person and i don't have any amazing metabolism. Just an average dude who gets myself off my butt to make my body better. I don't see why someone overweight can't just suck it up and make some changes. The exception to these simple things are the rare person. The average person should have no problems maintaining or losing some fat if they just tweak their lives a little bit beyond crazy crash diets, watching American Idol every night and popping slim fast and diet pills wondering why they are still fat. Then blame it on magazines and call it "unrealistic expectations created by the media!" Pfft no one says get skinny as hell, just get a freakin healthy looking weight!
