Posted at December 31, 1969, 6:00 pm: You are doing enough squating to build your quads, especially if you are applying the intensity. I recommend doing stiff-legged deads as an alternate deadlift. You can attain good aesthetic balance and strength just by keeping the deads about 50 lbs lighter than squats and going for twelve rep-sets. Further, since your lower back is taking a good beating anyway, look into the keystone version of stiff-legged deads. This can definately work for you. Peace.
