From the plate's buyer: The plate was made by Stevenson. There was a series with various medallions (Washington, Jefferson and others) and the other plates were larger. the 6 1/2" Lafayette plate is the rarest, and there were several collectors wanting to complete their set. Oh the joys of a bidding war. Happy hunting, Bill. Doubt I'll ever find one here.
