Posted at December 31, 1969, 6:00 pm: The "plastic-y" look to skin tones is from too harsh of highlights. Skin is NOT that reflective, because skin cells are matte. You have to have more of a gradient effect, than a few skin tones, and then light highlights on top. In Photoshop, thats when you should be switching to the Airbrush tool, with about a 65% flow, and a low opacity of about 9-24% or so.
