Posted at December 31, 1969, 6:00 pm: Boeing, Sun Microsystems, GM, Google and others have been highly commended for their business blogs (check out the articles previously mentioned). Each one successfully caters to its target market. If your target market only wants to know about new listings or prefers something a little meatier, such as the hair receiver example, it's not huckstering. It's giving your customers and potential customers what they want. Agreed. Blogging can make a small business more credible and/or it can humanize it in the way Boeing has done. Again it depends on your target market. Doing it simply because others are doing it doesn't make sense. Identifying your target market and giving it what it wants from you does make sense. A blog should attract and retain visitors, and they should be bookmarking it and coming back, otherwise you're wasting your time, IMO. BTW, these traffic factors will also help you in the serps, but this is just a fringe benefit, IMO, because the power exists in giving people what they want/need. If a blog is not doing this for you whether it's a business blog or a personal one, it's probably time to re-evaluate your goals and strategy, and try experimenting with different strategies to find the right niche. Happy selling and blogging! Original of the message was taken from http://www.auctionbytes.com/forum/phpBB/ Parent Post: Maybe I am turned off by doing a marketing blog because, as a shopper,...
