Posted at December 31, 1969, 6:00 pm: Hi vlo and welcome to Auctionbytes yes, I really do feel that there are different customers that frequent the various venues, and that eBay is a mixed bag. I did not do well with my inventory over 3 years on TIAS, yet do attract more customers on Trocadero where I have been for just on 6 months. I havent ever tried RL, but, social problems aside, people who sell there seem satisfied. GA used to be very good for regular sales, but now seems more beneficial for Live Auctions. I really liked the customer service at JM, but did not find it profitable for my inventory, and so closed my store there after trying it for a year. And as I mentioned in the above post, my eBay store has been a very pleasantly profitable surprise for me! (I used to diss eBay myself before I opened an eBay store and still dont do regular auctions there as I dont find them worth my time and $) I also have my own website, which I confess I seldom update as I am just so busy with eBay and Troc, but I still seem to get good sales from it too. However it is interesting that for other dealers with different merchandise, the venues that dont work for me may well work very well for them....again reinforcing my view re the varying customer base being attracted to certain types of inventory in a particular venue environment JMHO http://www.almasattic.net eBAY http://stores.ebay.com/almasatticantiquescollectibles?refid=store BLOG http://almasatticantiques.blogspot.com Original of the message was taken from http://www.auctionbytes.com/forum/phpBB/ Previous Post: Hi - this is my first post on AB though I've been reading, learning an...
