Posted at December 31, 1969, 6:00 pm: I think I've told you on another site that The Thief was a good piece of work (though with all the critical praise the promotors dumped on the poster, it had to be), the only problem I've had with it was the deliberately forced tear jerker moments. They got tiring after a while. Mind you after watching Waking Ned Devine (double feature), it was never going to be that good.
