Tabs are more than just another music resource, they're a part of the DIY culture, and companies who are trying to take over a market can't stand independent production, especially when it is free. At least if somebody is selling tabs they transcribed themselves, you know they're probably pretty easy to buy out, but how can you buy out a site that gives free tabs? That's like trying to force the Hare Krishna wagon out of business, when in fact their food is free.
