Posted at December 31, 1969, 6:00 pm: Supposedly, a ghost hangs around here every year, outside of the house, during the month of October. What happens is that there is a patch of woods to the left, right, and back of the place, and at night if you stop and listen you can occasionally hear the sound of something presumably being dragged through the leaves. It usually sounds deep into the area, but then comes closer and closer to you toward the edge of the yard. Normally nothing can be seen, but I vaguely remember around the age of 13 when there were red eyes that sort of hovered about 4 feet in the air. Scared the shit out of everyone, and enough to make us call the cops. Cops come, and they see it to. So they try to go into the woods after whatever it is, but stated to us upon returning that whenever the guys got right up at it, it would duck down to an extent, and nearly immediately appear 20 to 30 feet away. Eventually they gave up, but thats about the only time something like that has actually been seen. The only explanation we can come to is the history of the yard, because back in the early 1900's a black man was lynched in the tree near where all that shit happens. Now its only a stump after being cut down, but I also recall my dad jokingly hanging a ghost from it long ago, and then one night after coming back from town, it was gone. You had to get a ladder to go that high, so that one was a trip. Its highly possible that some moron stole it though. Anyway, thats my brush with the paranormal. - Casper thinks Kool Aid blows.
