HI everyone. I am interested in finding out more information on a knife collection I inherited a few years back. The gentleman who previously owned them was a merchant mariner during WW2 and traveled extensively thoughout northern Africa. He also was married to a woman who was previously married to the embassador to Austria(?) or Belgium (?) in the nineteen-fifties. Having shown the knives to an antique road show appraisor in Philadelphia a few years back, one of the knives was dated prior to the suggested era. Although the majority appear to be made for the soldier's novelty market. They are all in good condition, with unique, distinctive elements. Three appear to be more working knives (i.e. hatchets) rather than battle or ceremonial designs.The other two appear to be more decorative and ceremonial. If anyone is interested in recieving pictures or more detailed information, please contact me with your inquiries.
