Alright, I'm completely lost here. I have been reading many threads on this site. There have been so many people contradicting one another that I haven't the slightest clue as to what I need to do.

So, to begin with, I have recently been losing weight as I was rather chubby. I just do pushups every other night, and crunches every two nights. I have gone from 175 down to 150 so I thought it was going pretty well. After reading all this stuff, however, I feel silly to think I was going to get any sort of visible results doing what I currently do.

What I want is more endurance, and to be defined. I do not, however, want to be a bulging chunk of muscle. My reasons for wanting to work out: I have no self confidence as far as my body goes. I am doing this for myself to build confidence and to be able to be comfortable around my friends when I go swimming or to a waterpark.

So, I would like to know how to best reduce my body fat and exercise effectively. Any good diets that won't kill me as far as taste goes. A good workout routine. I want end result smooth muscles, not something that will put someone's eye out.
