Hello,

I'm just a regular guy, not any bodybuilder, but love to train.

Some confusing idea for me: "...Heavy, high intensity workouts are necessary to produce muscular hypertrophy. The heavier the weight and more confusion that you apply to a muscle (ie. Intensity), the greater number of deeper muscle fibers will be stimulated. As a final word, light weight, repetitive, low intensity workouts just don't cut it in this game."

So, say I exercise with dumbbells of 20 pounds each one, doing sets of 7 reps each one. After some time, I should change weigth to, say, 25 pounds. But it means that the first days I would have to reduce reps, because with more weigth I wouldn't be able to do my normal 7 reps each set. After several days of training with the new weigth then I would be able to get my 7 normal reps... am I right?

Replies:

Theoretically, yes.

How you train depends on what you want for the end result.

Another way to look at it is this (and this is a oversimplification): ...

Rest, hydration and grams of lean quality protein vs.

You need to go a little further with your logic.
