I finally used my Reverse Grip Steel Lifting hooks for standing barbell row and barbell bent row. What I noticed about the standing barbell row is I couldn't lift as high as I normally do. On my lift I was stopping 2-3 inches below my nipples. Any higher and the bar would not be resting flat in the hook. I also discovered, by looking at the exercise on this site, I am holding my hands too close together. I only had them about 4" apart. So, the hook doesn't look like a good fit for this exercise.

The other exercise I used them on was the barbell bent row. Wow, what a difference. I now think I can start adding weight again. And my grip sorness as decreased. I used to start loosing my grip around the 7 rep on this exercise and now I can complete the sets.

I'm thinking about using wrist straps for the standing barbell row. Does anyone else use them for this lift?
