Posted at February 26, 2013, 10:33 am: Ya know, those New Jersey State Trooper fellas sher are a nice bunch. I was late fer work this morning so I called my boss and said I done overslept. But I'd be to work right quick as possible. He said OK, make it snappy. So I headed down Route 33 gunnin' my Chevy truck just as fast as she's gonna go. Funny how those oldsters took to draftin' behind me. Must have been a little thrill for 'em. Anyways, 'fore I know it I got a police escort. I guess my boss musta called and said his star employee needed to get to work toot-sweet. So them State Troopers is followin' me with lights a-flashin and sireens a-hollerin. And people is gettin' outten our way right quick. I felt real important. I just wish them Statie Boys coulda kept up with me. But they musta called ahead to their com-pah-drays to meet up with me up head. You know, them boys is courteous for doin' this but they ain't too bright fer stoppin' right in the middle of the road like that blockin' my way. Sheesh! So anyways I got to slow down to about 110 and let them all catch up to me. I pulled over to 'em to say howdy and thankee. So they says they's gonna take me in. Well ain't that right nice to offer to get me to work, but my truck is just fine to do the job. No they says they's gonna take me in, and they hands me some paper passes. I ain't never been one to argue with the law, so I gets in the Statie car and lets him drive me. I guess we gots to stop at hisn office first. He says do I wants to call someone. I says sure, my boss. So we calls my boss and he comes get me. Funny thing is why they kept my truck to weigh it. I could tell 'em how much she weighs empty and fully loaded. But, the Statie Boys says somethin' about the truck being in-pounds. Sometimes I just don't understand.
