whenever i squat to parallel, im able to handle significantly more weight (20kg+) more comfortably wenever im belted, and close to my max, rather than unbelted and with lower weights. the same applies to my deadlifts. i know the belt provides something to push your belly into for support and so forth, but does it really make such a big difference?

i dont think my lower back or core has any weaknesses, or any weak links... A2G i can squat perfectly fine, even with loads close to my max, without the use of a belt, and my lower back feels fine, unlike with parallel squats. the same goes for SLDL, and any other exercise where the lower back is used.

is this normal, or is there something im seemingly missing out on? cheers for any info.
