first off let me say thank you in advance to any info or help i may recieve. i entered my first bench competition this weekend (raw) and i did pretty well. i competed in the teen division, and won easily with a bench of 430 (bodyweight of 215). i felt pretty good and i feel like i can go up more. but here are my questions

1.) does anyone know how close this is to a teen division record? i wonder what the teen national record is as i would love to get that title

2.) also you must know i started out training for bber doing most my sets for 12 reps. when a friend told me i should enter the show, i started off doing sets of 5. i was wondering as i am new to powerlifting training, how many sets and reps are optimal for increasing my bench? also, how many days off between benching should i take (yes i train everything else, but i just wonder how many days i should take off between bench training) i was thinking about doing a bench assist day (delts, tris, etc, maybe a little benching with resitanc bands,) taking 4 days off then doing my heavy benching? thank you guys i really cant thank you enough for your help.

oh btw, my next show is in sept and my goal is 450 by then in the teen 220 division.

#1 - It all depends on which federation/organization you lift in.

In the AAU raw division it's 424.
