I mentioned in one of the posts that for a long time I did not believe that the Monkees Birds, Bees, and the Monkees LP existed in mono. Everytime I saw a copy of what was supposed to be a picture of it, it turned out to be a picture of either the British copy or a picture of the CD label (which is made to look like the LP label).

Since then I have acquired a copy and have seen it listed on E-bay a couple of times. I am wondering if there are any other LPs out there that are so extremely rare that you wonder if they exist at all. These would be records that are listed in the price guides and may not even list that high valuewise but are next to impossible to find. Another artiist's whose records come to mind when I think about this and are Del Shannon's AMY label LPs. The mono copies are easy to come by, but try finding the stereo copies! Whoa doggies! I have been collecting for years and have only seen two copies listed as being stereo and for sale. I bought one of them but the other got away.

What about you guys out there? Anyone else have an elusive butterfly they are looking for? Ben
