Recently walked into a local junk...oops, excuse me...ANTIQUE store and picked up a partial albumful of 78s. A couple were interesting (Mills Bros, Ink Spots, Nat "King" Cole, Duke Ellington) but the reason I picked it up is the presence of a 78 featuring Mel Blanc! Both sides feature a song called Tweetie Pie with music by Billy May. Song credits go to Fotster-Maltese and it comes from albm #CAS-3074 on Capitol. The most interesting thing about it to me is the fact that the label features a clown face with the spindle hole as the nose (!!!) and the side markers and a small profile of Tweetie Bird appear to be stamps placed after label printing. Also of interest is that it is on Capitol CANADA. I have never seen anything quite like this before firsthand, but have seen some listed on Ebay, but not with this label. Anyone know anything about it?
