If I understand correctly, the difference between these two lifts is just that in a push jerk the lifter drops into a partial squat instead of a split, correct?

Do people generally use the same kind of weight, or is one lift easier than the other (or does it vary from person to person)? Specifically, when would someone use a squat instead of a split?

Also, is it easier to start with the bar behind the neck, or in front, from the rack?

Finally, if I push press, say, 200 lbs, how much would I be able to split jerk (I know there's no general rule, but I'm sure there's some sort of correlation).

I'm asking because I want to start doing some kind of jerk, but I want to use the technique that lets me use the most weight.
