Has anyone been getting annoyed at all these so-called "otakus"? And mind you, 'otaku' only means 'fan' or to an extent, one who has an obsessive persona. These people use try to fit a Japanese word in every conversation just to seem Japanese, having "baka", "minna", "konnichiwa" and any word they can possibly learn reading manga and watching anime in their Americanize vocabulary. Or of course, bragging how they look like this character and that character, just to seem "cool" – or should I put it, kakkoi? when of course, there is no way you can look identical to a two-dimension animated character. And then they start to put honorifics after they say someone's name, such as "Phillip-kun!" and "Ariel-chan!" when there is no Japanese person in sight. Plus there is a probability that the other [person] doesn't know what the hell you mean at all, as well.

There is also another word for people (OTAKU!) who are obsessed with Japan; which is: Japanophile, which brings other anime fans to shame.

Reading a view articles I've found, I want to share with you the views of what other anime fans think of this situation.

[x] "This essay, in no way, is representative of all otaku; I honestly believe there are some decent anime fans out there. I know quite a few of them personally. But for those it does apply to, you know who you are."

[x] "Somewhat along those same lines, there also seems to exist a rule in the Unwritten Code of Otakudom that denouncing everything Western and championing everything Japanese is an essential part of being an anime fan."

[x] "In the case of this site, when we speak of otaku, we are more often than not referring to those we have encountered in the American fandom; we are speaking of not any fan, but of the most extreme, dangerous, obnoxious, hygienically deficient, and/or unsavory ones we've encountered.."
