So I finally got a Voyager! played it last night for the first time. I got a deal on one that had been refurbished so I'm going through and looking for problems while I can still get my money back (45 days). On the Electric Blue, how loud is the "whine" for the backlight? Mine is pretty loud. A very noticeable "weeee". I could compare it to a fan in a very noisy hard drive on a computer. It's not the biggest deal in the world, but is this normal? If not, is it a sign of a deeper problem? is it fixable?

Are there other problems i should be watching out for? Since I got such a good deal on it, I expected it to have visible damage. It doesn't - looks perfect, so I'm worried that there might be bigger internal problems.

I haven't blasted it through the monitors yet, but I did notice that there's an "airy" sound through the headphones when a note is on, especially with bass sounds.

I love this thing, though, and if I can convince myself that there's not much wrong with it in the next 45 days, I'll have myself a great Moog.

Unfortunately (or fortunately from your POV), this is normal.

I've never heard any whinig from my AE.

I've not heard my AE make the whine either.

My AE WHIIIIIIIINES! It always has.

I haven't noticed ANY whine on my RME
