The above patch utilizes oscillator sync in a less conventional manner. Instead of the usual screaming lead tone, its structured to allow the master oscillator to function as a sub-octave thats phase-locked to the fundamental With this use of sync, one can have a two-oscillator bass patch in which the oscillators are tuned to an octave unison, but without the phase cancellations that cause the amplitude to wobble with a non-phase locked arrangement. This actually yields a tighter bass tone when staccato env settings are used. In addition, one can use a second or higher harmonic as the dominant frequency (for those who accompany bass guitar). The frequency of oscillator 2 sets the proper phase alignment for simulating the osc/sub-osc arrangement. Try more staccato env settings for variations. Also, for those who may have a model D thats been modified with Osc1/2 sync, the same principle can be adapted. Will post a reference patch in sysex on the Squarewave file section as time permits.
