I received my piano bar just last week and have been experimenting with it for only a few days. This instrument is very well constructed and has amazing capabilities that will require much study.

My particular application is to use with a Duo-Art Steinway reproducing piano to record MIDI files taken from paper rolls that were recorded by famous pianists in the 1920's and 1930's. These performances captured all of the expession pedaling, tempo, etc. of the artist, and included performances by major composers such as Ravel, Gershwin, Saint Saens, and many others.

Moog was kind enough to provide a pedal sensor that can be modified to respond to the action of the pneumatics that operate the reproducing piano, since the normal piano pedals do not move during playback (keyboard does respond with all of the original velocity information). Thus the Moog piano bar is an ideal way to capture the original performance and have it in MIDI format.
