Posted at January 3, 2006, 1:06 am: i'm using a old television broadcasting case (28 space tall rack mount) and would like to know if there is a way to mount the antenna to the outside of this unit and properly insulate the mounts. i'm amazed at the sensitivity. i've experimented with placing 1/2" thick nylon boards and porcelain plates between the rack and the antenna and it has no effect whatsoever, crazy! right now, it's just sitting on top of the rack. i'm fine with it on top if it's impossible to mount inside but there is two problems currently sitting on top..... 1. VOLUME: the volume antenna is too close to the metal case and fully mutes the theremin. reversing the response direction of the volume antenna may fix half the problem (just always on) and i'm willing to do this modification as listed in the great etherwave customizing PDF but is there a jumper to eliminate the volume antenna? i understand the importance of the volume antenna but i could do without and use the fader on my rack mount mixer to get a poor simulation. 2. PITCH: now, when set on top of the rack, i can not obtain a low enough pitch.
