Posted at December 26, 2012, 2:43 pm: My 2 cents about the Braun food processor. I used to have a Braun Multipractic and loved it. It was whisked off, so to speak, by, I think, an old boyfriend. I went looking for a new one and found that Braun no longer makes the Multipractic, but something called a Combimax instead. I looked at all sorts of food processors, keeping speed variability and flexibility of action in mind. The Combimax 650 met my needs with 14 variable speeds plus pulse on all those speeds and all sorts of neat attachments. Next I had to find one to buy, which was difficult in the US. I did this about two years ago, so I don't know if the situation has changed, but no Braun food processors were available in the USA. I finally got one from Canada for about $116 American. It was shipped to me for $25 I have been very pleased with it after 2 years of service. I use it about every other day and it has had to deal with everything from freshly-broken eggs to raw almonds. It has produced slices and fine grounds and everything in between without complaint. Cleanup is easy and the bowl is completely sealed around the bottom and sides, making it no problem to pour stuff out of it (some food processor I looked at had a bowl with a hole for the blade attachment It is a fantastic appliance for this home cook who likes to get creative. Price was right too Just my 2c as I didn't see any prior comments on this machine in a search of the forum.
