Does anyone here have any experience with solarizing your garden beds?
I have read that this process can eliminate a lot of problems due to pests, weeds and soil fungus.
I thought I'd clear out and turn my beds this fall after everything is harvested and cover with plastic until next spring when I can start planting. The heat of the sun is supposed to kill weed seeds, bug larvae, and soil fungus.
I've read to use clear plastic and others say black plastic. Which should I use and is my timing OK?
Any feedback or advice would be helpful.
