My perspective as a Canadian:
Do NOT open your Neteller account in Canadian $. That cost me a few bucks until I fixed it. Also, as mentioned previously, if you ever have to change it from Can to US, they will give you a whole new account and close the old one (they move your money over). Make sure you let all of the poker sites you play on know, or they will deposit to your old account. Then you have to contact Neteller to move it over, you will get hammered for exchange blah blah blah. Party made me deposit from the new account before I could withdraw to it.
Here's what I do - I hve a bankroll in Neteller now, hopefully won't need to deposit into it any more. Money goes back and forth to sites, no problem, no cost....as opposed to nearly 4% when you move it back and forth with a CAN $ account. When I changed accounts, I just had them use the same bank account, which would be my Canadian dollar one. I didn't care, because I won't transfer that way. Anytime I want to withdraw, I just deposit it into Party (try to wait for reload), then go directly to my bank account via their Pro-Pay system. Seems to be a VERY good exchange rate. I got 1.1532 about 1-2 months ago, which I think was pretty close to bang-on at the time.
