Posted at October 5, 2004, 9:19 am: I find it fascinating that Ebay's CEO Meg Whitman has not been handed her pink slip. Aside from all of the negative things she has allowed to take place on ebay since assuming the helm she also has one of the worst records of positive feedback when people are asked if they think she is doing a good job or not. Forbes has a monthly vote on ceo's (to see Meg's go here) http://www.forbes.com/2003/05/01/cx_ceointernetpoll.html Her BEST month was an 11% approval rating in the last 12 months. Add to that she has been in the single digits for a majority of the year. Her worst month was last month which was a 3% approval rating. I am not alone when it comes to the opinion that she does not know what she is doing. Ebay succeeds only because of users, not (and in spite of) the management who are ruining it on a daily basis. If you are an ebay user be sure to vote in the poll. That includes you folks that think she is doing a good job (she needs all the help she can get). I for one would like to see the company run by a few people who actually have a clue about what buyers and sellers want and need instead of someone who in my opinion lives in a box with no concept of what is going on with the company that she is running. Just my humble opinion though.
