Posted at September 26, 2012, 7:51 pm: As a pretty active member in helping people find their manga, I've noticed some issues that make it rather difficult to find the request, and some issues that make it difficult to help a person. Before requesting, it would really help if you read this and took some of my advice into consideration: 1) Please post the title of your desired anime/manga clearly! Make sure it is spelled correctly (google it if you must). I, for one, use a search site like Baka-Updates to find manga, and it makes it difficult to help if the name is misspelled. 2) PLEASE post whether you are looking for anime, manga, or both! 3) Ask nicely. This is probably the most important one. Do not demand a manga; we are helping you of our own free will. Using please and thank you is always appreciated. ^_^ 4) Search. Search. Search. SEARCH!. Some manga have been requested repeatedly and I know the threads are still here. If you cannot find some sites here by searching, then post. There are also many recommendations threads in Misc. Series, so if you want a recommendation I'd advise looking there. 5) It would really help if everyone made sure they checked three resources and used them if they could: -Baka-Updates Manga: A great website that has information on new updates to manga, and lots of information on what has been released and on the groups themselves. Baka-Updates does the same for anime. -Evil Empire: A huge forum dedicated to providing direct downloads for manga. As always, read the rules. -#Lurk: An IRC channel on irchighway that has lots of manga downloads and is easy to use. 6) A more personal request is not to use excess Japanese... we use English on this forum and while I'm fine with people asking for things in a different language, please do not speak in a different language - especially one you cannot spell. These are not rules, technically, although I'm not afraid to delete anything that is rude or demanding; it's not hard to ask nicely and it means a lot to the rest of us.
