Posted at May 13, 2005, 7:18 pm: Ok I'm not a great Tourney player, I just hate being on a limited bankroll in NL, so I'm looking for any help you guys can offer. I've been trying to get the urge to play poker back, been casino whoring wayyyy too much lately. So I decided to check out the local bar FR here, played in it about 3 times now, and I can't seem to make any progress. Here's what I find weird, I walk in expecting a bunch of LAGs, so my plan is to be patient and wait for the good hands, just try to swim around til the final table, then start making moves. Boy was I in for a surprise. All of the last three weeks it's amazing to see more than 4 people to the flop. I've been noticing everyone is using my same strategy, so this last time I open up a lil and go for my steals and get unlucky, it happens. What's weird is everytime I see an actual pot between two people it reads like a friggin hand quiz outta TPFAP. Hell I've only had to correct somebody once on correct outs and incorrect pot odds, I'm friggin scared. Are the fish picking up books or what? How would you guys play this thing? If you stumbled in there you would think it would be a 100$ MTT not a drunken FR. Hell after the first 3 hr.s the other night I think there was still 3 tables and we started with 5, any ideas?
