The drug company Pfizer has recently come up with a treatment for breast cancer. Best of all, it comes in pill form. The drugs name is
Zyrone
Pfizer feels it's about time to start advertising their new drug, and their marketing team did some research: Breast cancer most likely hits women from the ages of 40-59. Knowing this is their target group, they did some research, and learned that 69% of the readers of "People" magazine are women, and 42% of those are between the ages of 35-54
They feel that to make the best impact, they want to do a full two page spread, right as you open the magazine cover. They also want the ad to be "full bleed" that is - they don't want a white margin around the whole thing. Here are the specifications
The magazine is 16 inches long by 10.5 inches tall. However, to do full bleed, you are to make a 16.25 x 10.75 inch image. This will be cut down to the correct size. the live area will be 15 x 10 inches - this is where text can be displayed
Full Unit: 16.25 x 10.75 inches <-- your full imageTrim: 16 x 10.5 inches <-- what it will be cut down toLive Area: 15 x 10 inches <-- where text can b
Also, keep in mind the gutter - that is, the where the magazine is stapled together. Type should be kept 1/16th of an inch away from each side of the crease, leaving a 1/8th inch gap
Your submittals should be 150dpi (see 4th post), and saved in pdf format
Entry deadline is Monday, May 1 2006
