I don't know when i missed this, but did Ebay announce that they would stop all messages that weren't between buyers and sellers in a transaction? I've had lots of great exchanges with others who are buying or selling items I'm interested in. Sometimes it's a technical question, sometimes just asking for experience - like "why do you think this sold so low and what are you experiencing in this market?" People have been terrific and given me advice that I don't know how to get any other way. Is there a trick to circumventing this policy? I think it dampens Ebay business.
