because: I haven't been able to face a ring game for about 2 months. I get bored and start playing like a donk. Decided I was burned out, so I switched to casino bonuses. But after a coupla months of that I think I've burned through the best ones already.
Then, almost by accident, I started playing tourneys. (Didn't want to deposit again into a site where I had thousands of points, so it began with pp freerolls.) I am having A BLAST doing this, and not doing too badly, either (playing mtt's, I seem to do much better w/those than 10-seater sng's. But it doesn't look to me like clearing bonuses with tourneys is really very practical, unless i were to start playing much higher buy-ins, which won't happen for awhile if at all, since my sample size at this point is way too small still to determine anything (like whether to move up or not).
All i know is, I'm having FUN. I like the built-in structure, the competition, the possibility of winning. I've tried a coupla times this week to play ring games again, and the impatient donk reared its ugly head almost immediately.
Any advice? About any of this? I DO need the income, but it doesn't have to be large (see thread on house investments above-- mine has a rental unit)-- $500 a month will easily do me. Above all I don't want to spend way too much time grinding, the way I was before. It was taking a serious negative toll on my spirit somehow (& maybe I'll post about that sometime, since I often wonder if others here have experienced it.)
