So I read Sklansky's old book. The original Hold 'Em book. It sounds like he's a pretty tight player. When I try his pre-flop strategy given raises and playing hands in position and playing the hand-groups that he suggests, I play very few flops at all.

At $1/$2 and $2/$4 at UltimateBet, I've been losing money pretty consistently over the last week. When I talk to people that have been making money and watch them for awhile, I realize they're playing many more A 7 type hands and other hands that the book basically tells you NEVER to play.

What's the deal? Are these games too soft to play this tight? At what level does playing tight really make a difference?

I know some of ya'll have read the book, so let me know....
