How is it different from online play?

Seems to me like you can cut down on the know-it-all factor and get some genuinely clueless folks just out to have a good time.

I live a mere few blocks away from a cardroom, and there's a loose as a goose 3/6 Omaha Hi-Low game going almost every day. I've been watching this game and I feel like I could beat it. It's over my head (I live bonus-to-bonus so I have a resulting bankroll of exactly $0); but one of these days I'm going to grow some balls and sit down in it.

The fact that it's the very same cardroom where Steve Badger dealt, and where Gus Hansen played while he was going to college makes me a little wary, however. I don't want to run into another one of them.

I just want to know basically what to expect. This is a rake-free room, but instead they do something called "time collection". How does that work? I see the dealer taking a few chips from people's stacks every now and then, and after that he pulls a chip out of his tray and drops it into a little slot. This is totally alien to me. I can't figure this out from context.
