OK so a little while back I did a concept for a character I wanted to work out
in 3D and posted on this site. Here's that one again real quick



It kinda' sucks, or at least it wasn't up to the quality I wanted and it was
really bugging me. I had one of those pitiful artistic flurrys of self doubt I think
we all get once in a while. I cursed at the sky...
WHY GOD (BUDDAH,SATAN)!?! WHY THE FUCK MUST MY WONDERFUL IDEAS LOOK LIKE CRAP WHEN I WANT THEM TO SHINE AND LOOK SPIFFY!?! WHYYYYYYYYYY!?!?!
So then I thought about some of the guys I work with who are better
painters than me. What would they say? What would their take on this
hideous spiritual dilemma be?
Then it hit me! They'd say what they say every single time I produce
something like this. They'd say "that blows, keep working".

OF COURSE!!! IT'S SO OBVIOUS!!! So with these new insights I set about
making the piece suck less, and after lots and lots of repainting I ended up
with this version I find way less objectionable, in fact I rather like it.



*phew*! Disaster averted. Next up, doin' it in 3D.
