The House Financial Services Committee approved the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act of 2006 (HR 4411) yesterday and it is now moving to the House floor for consideration:

Note: This might also include banning Neteller, which is what most of us use.

I never thought I'd be saying "Hooray Barney Frank!" but I am after reading this bit from the Reuters article about the bill:

I, too, think that adults are entitled to do with their money what they want to do, and oppose this bill. I urge you to join me in calling or e-mailing your Congresscritters and asking them to oppose this bill. Go to the House of Representatives website, enter the zipcode where you are registered to vote, and then click on your Congresscritter's name. This will take you to their web site, which should include their e-mail, phone numbers, and office addresses. You can also use the Write Your Representative e-mail system. When you call or e-mail them please specify that you are contacting them regarding HR 4411, the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act of 2006. Let them know that you think adults should be treated like adults!
