Alright, Finally I can start up my sketchbook thread. I have been meaning to do this since I came back from the Montreal workshop, but in the cruelest twist of fate my Internet has been on the fritz for some time so while the drawings have been collecting I haven't been able to upload, so here's a brief "synopsis" of a few things before, a few things during, and several things after the workshop. So here we go on the start of what I hope to be a great adventure! I'm going to try to post Every weekday, and on the weekends as much as possible. My motivation is here, my inspiration still fresh, Bring it on!!!!

As always, crits whether brutal or nice are welcome and encouraged!

We'll start with the very first beginning Thunderdome "A La HI Hostel" This is before the workshop had even begun and before I had met a lot of people.

Again, a preworkshop page, the lamp is ref'd from a street in Old Montreal

Here is just something that sortof evolved from a few marks on the page with my brand new fancy dancy Col-Erase Pencil...Thanks Calle for selling it to me

Another Col-Erase peice, from memory of an image seen in an animal book

And more Blue!!!! Again a Thunderdome Piece

Now a character design inspired after seeing Marko and Wes draw with confidence of line. I tried to be neat and confident with my lines even if they were wrong.

The model that many may have seen from photos from Montreal

Nearing the end of the Workshop, trying some interesting posing...

Now, out of the workshop, back at home in my boring hometown! What to draw oh what to draw? Well I struggle with faces so lets start with Eyes!!! This is 1 of 3 pages of eyes done for study.

And of Course I have to paint one too

Quick digital creature, trying to develop a pencil tool in Painter that works the way I want it to, after getting some much needed advice from Dan Milligan, thanks again!!

Model time!! When to a drop in session and this in 1 of 5 pages produced at the session!

Trying some technology

And the pilot of that little marine ship

Now lets put some of those eye studies to good use... A portrait from ref off the X-Men III Website, can you guess who it is?

Another potrait from ref to keep practicing facial features

Ugh I want to just put this on behind me!

This one not so bad, her face is a tad odd shaped eh?

Some little monster creations after being tired of portraits and humans for a bit.

And my latest WIP! I pirate. The pose needs work and refinement is only 1/2 to 1/3 done but hopefully it will make it somewhere!

Thats all of the images for the catchup, thank you for looking in and again, crits though brutal they may be are always welcome and encourage. I plan to improve myself as best I can with the support of this great community!

Thank you all!!
Dave
