Wow, the first public event of this year's WSOP drew over 2,300 players!!! A local friend of mine flew out there and played in it and couldn't believe the massive lines, etc. It was supposed to be a two day event with the final table being Day Two. They were forced to make it a three day event instead.

If this is a sign of how the rest of the WSOP is going to go then I may not enter the $2k event. I have no interest playing against 2,000+ people. Luck factor is too much. I can't believe the first event drew so many. Everyone who said that poker had peaked had better reconsider.
