Hello everyone, this is my first ever post on conceptart.org. I have been watching the forums for a little while now, and have decided it's about time I posted my own art and joined the community.

First, a little information about myself: My nameis Jonathan Dare. I am 14 years old and live in southern california. I have been drawing for as long as I can remember (mostly just anime or stick figures fighting and that kind of stuff), and I have always had a passion for creating things. Recently( about a year ago), I got into computer graphics and things and have done very little pen and paper art since. In my spare time I create websites and wallpapers and stuff (most not worth mentioning or showing to anyone). Recently, since I discovered conceptart.org, I have been inspired to start my own sketchbook and do my best to become a better artist in all areas not just computer art. However, my supplies are somewhat limited. Paints, expensive pencils, or even watercolors are somewhat difficult for me to come by, so most of my art is done with a simple #2 pencil and paper. I know I'm not very good yet, but everyone has to start somewhere, right?

That being said, the first images of my sketchbook. The sizes have been scaled down because I thought that the full images were a bit too large (up to 1664x1168 ):

Some flowers that I drew last night completely off the top of my head (I just felt like drawing flowers). I did not have any flowers to look at at the time and I ended up just doing a lot of random geometric designs on the vase. I know its dark, a bit crowded, and hard to make out, but nonetheless I like it:

This one is a robot thing that I drew a little while ago as part of a game concept that I was pitching. The project was abandoned after a very similar mod was released and the game would have no longer been as original as when I had started it. Anyway, here is the picture:

If the images don't work, please check back frequently as I am waiting for the subdomain to fully propogate, and until then they may not function properly.

Also, in a somewhat different subject, I was wondering if the Wacom Intous pad would be worth spending $200+ on. I was wondering if it pays for itself with the time it saves or if it would just be better to scan things in. I was also wondering if size mattered when getting a pad, because as far as I can see the smaller one would be just as effective as the larger ones, just with a smaller canvas, but since it is on the computer I figured you could always just make it bigger or add more to it easily.

I will be setting up an online journal or a blog soon for my art and things, so I'll try and keep you all updated with progress on that and of course my art.

Any replies, good or bad, will be much appreciated.
