After reading the column ( http://auctionbytes.com/cab/abn/y06/m08/i10/s01 ) about the new discussion group started in which group members are basically begging Google to compete with eBay in the auction & stores arena, I came away wondering why everyone thinks Google would be any better than eBay?

Okay, it would be great to have an alternative to eBay, but begging Google to stop eBay, the original 1000 lb gorilla would be opening the door for another 1000 lb gorilla to be created.

Has anyone heard any more from Google about getting into the competition? I haven't. If they've got the clout to compete with eBay, why don't they come to us instead of us begging them?. . . visit our virtual yard sale ... ... click here!
