This past week I received three eBay e-mails asking "Is this item still available?" or some variation of that question.

In all three, the item #, which has always been part of eBay's e-mail subject line, was missing, so I had no idea what item they were questioning. This missing info set my fraud antennae to vibrating.

I logged into eBay and checked the My Message file and one of these e-mails was actually there, but the other two were AWOL. I checked the one that was there very,very carefully, and I still found no item # mentioned.

I forwarded all three to eBay Fraud and received an e-mail from them saying they would investigate, but I've not heard from them since.

Has anyone else received a question like this? It appears on a very legit looking eBay question-from-a-buyer form and with one out of three e-mails managing to get into the My Messages file, it really has me confused. eBay glitch or a really, really good phish?Lenne

Lenne, it might be a glitch in Ebay's message servers.

I know exactly how you feel, i'm going through the routine with them.

Try installing the eBay toolbar, or the Netcraft toolbar.
