Hello,
I've been selling for a couple of months and have a perfect feedback score. I recently posted an item that was taken down for a vero violation (use of a manufacturer's image).
I read the "about me" page and wrote a note to the rights holder and to ebay asking for more info. Got no response. Several days later, I took a guess at what the problem was and removed the main image. I wrote a note to the right's holder telling them what I was doing, asking for guidance, and offering to make any changes, etc. Got no response.
So I reposted the item twice (once in an auction, and once in a store). A couple of days later, I received a notice saying my account has been suspended indefinitely.
I finally was able to communicate with the rights holder the day after the suspension. Based on this communication, the rights holder immediately retracted their complaint and asked ebay to remove all penalties, etc.
This was over a week ago. I've taken all the steps to request reinstatement, sent in the faxed forms, etc. There has been no response from ebay apart from boilerplate, which shows that they haven’t looked into the first issue of the case. The most recent notice helpfully advised me that if I haven’t heard back in two weeks, it could be because the faxed forms were not clear enough to be read. So before doing anything else, I should refax and wait another two weeks to see what happens.
Why would ebay treat its customers so poorly? Are they having a huge problem with this program, or have they decided that incompetence in handling reinstatement requests is the best deterrent?
Does anyone have any advice on how to deal with this situation? Thank you!
