Posted at June 12, 2004, 1:20 am: I am writing this to vent about what ebay has done to me. I have been selling Items on ebay from a certain company. I will refer to that company as "company a" After I received my first takedown email from ebay about "company a's" complaint I tried to email ebay and the vero partner that had my listing removed. Never heard anything so I decided to call "company a" myself to get things cleared up. Well "company a" tells me that it was a pricing issue and my price was to low. I asked him about using text and pictures from them for my listings and he said it was ok to do so. After hearing this I re-read the vero notice email and it stated it was taken down for a copyright violation. I let it go and went on with listing on ebay with the pricing issue corrected. Two weeks later the listings start getting pulled and ultimately lead to my account getting suspended. I then again emailed ebay, and "company a". "Company a" tells me this time that I am not on their vero members white list and I need to have my supplier call them so they can get me on the white flag list. I did that and "company a" was very helpful and willing to assist me there, but some parts of their actions are still not clear. They claim for a certain item they did not own the rights to it and could not give anyone else permission to use it. It seems kind of strange to me that a big company would use a picture from someone else. I admit one of my items was using that picture from "company a" but I received an ok from them the first time I called. After that listing was pulled again I stopped listing that item to avoid further takedowns and a suspended account. Here is where it gets interesting to me. The listing that ultimately lead up to account suspension was not using a picture from “company a”. Now this picture was taken by me of the item I bought. How can someone else ("company a") claim the rights to a picture that I personally took? Ebay refuses to give me an answer on that simple question. Now back to ebay, I send all of the required information to get my account status cleared up and many emails and trips to "live support" with out hearing anything back or next to no help from "live support". This has gone on for 2 weeks. At this point I don’t really care if I ever get my account back as I will never use ebay again.
