has anyone else had this problem - starting evening sept 23 for me:

well, just had a session with "live chat" and basically, i was told by the rep that this is a problem:

(1) i can't login to ebay.com - either netscape or IE - through a bid, through the "sign in" link or through the "sign in page to try to access "my ebay," etc.

(2) i CAN login to ebay.ca & ebay.co.uk using my user ID and password on both IE and netscape - i can also login on other https sites such as my bank, etc.

[the rep's first suggestion was to CHANGE MY PASSWORD because sometimes people forget - WRONG ANSWER - i use my account constantly!]

(3) i've had no new updates on any of my software e.g. norton, ms, etc.

(4) apparently the rep can't make heads or tails of this but ebay at some point this evening it seems rolled out "secure sign in" ie "https" which might be causing the problem.


posting it here as i can't sign into the ebay boards either.

anyone else experiencing this problem? actually, it would be helpful to know if you CAN sign in.
