Hi, I sell used, rare, and out-of-print books online and have done so for about 4 years now. I sell on abe, biblio, amazon and alibris. I have looked at halfvalue.com several times but have not signed up as of yet. I'm wondering if anyone has any experience selling on this site. I am interested to know how well it generates sales as compared to other sites. After reading through their seller FAQ's, I'm still a little unsure of some things. At one point it says that volumes sellers pay a one time set up fee of $5 and then only pay a percentage. At another point I read something about a $14.99 per month store. Is this just another option that is not required? Can you sell for only the commission and the one-time $5? Can you only get paid through Paypal? Do you get paid directly by the buyer and pay your commission to Halfvalue through Paypal? Can you accept other payment options? I used to have a credit card acceptance account but dropped it after abe forced us to use their processing service, I no longer got enough sales to warrant the cost(just American Express payments only) and also started allowing Biblio to process my payments. I know that I hardly ever get a sale on abe or biblio that is paid through paypal so I'm wondering if this negatively affects your sales through Halfvalue.com.
Can anyone give me any information from first-hand experience?
